Beef Tacos

Beef Tacos

Ingredients
8 tortillas or corn taco shells.
8 lettuce leaves, shredded.
4 tomatoes, sliced or diced depending on your preference.
1 cup tasty grated cheese.
1 jar of salsa to your choice of chili heat.
500 grams of lean minced beef.
1 tablespoon oil for frying.
1 onion finely diced.
2 tablespoons tomato paste.
Spice mix
2 cloves garlic, crushed.
1/4 teaspoon chili powder.
1 teaspoon paprika.
1 teaspoon ground cumin.
1 teaspoon ground coriander.
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano.
1 teaspoon sugar.
Method
Assemble the spice mix, combine crushed garlic, chili powder, paprika, cumin, coriander, oregano and sugar with enough oil to bind it.
Heat remaining oil over medium heat in a saucepan.
Fry onion and garlic until soft and golden.
Add the spice mix and fry until aromatic.
Add beef and brown well.
Mix tomato paste and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, adding some moisture if necessary.
Salt to taste before serving.
Serving
Heat some tortillas or taco shells as per packet instructions.
Serve tacos with meat, grated cheese, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce and salsa of heat to suit your taste.
Variations for the brave inlcude adding tabasco sauce and pickled jalapenos when building your tacos.
