Ingredients
400 gram tin sweetened condensed milk.
200 grams quality dark eating chocolate, diced.
100 grams unsalted butter.
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar.
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped.
2 tablespoons golden syrup.
1 tablespoon icing sugar to serve.
Method
Grease a 5 cm deep 8 x 25 cm baking tray and line with baking paper, allowing an overhang on both ends.
In a saucepan, combine the condensed milk, sugar, butter and golden syrup and heat over a gentle heat until sugar is dissolved.
Increase heat to medium, and cook the mixture until it starts to become thick and caramel like.
Remove from heat and mix in walnuts and the chocolate.
Let sit for 15 minutes, then pour into lined dish and refrigerate for 3-4 hours, until set.
Serving
Lift out of pan, remove paper and discard. Dust top with icing sugar.
Cut into squares. Fudge will store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 weeks.
